Tidbits of cortex floating off into space:
Since when did government sanctify anything? If I remember it is up to
churches to uphold, deem, whatever the sanctity of anything. I mean,
noone says that corporations are sanctified when they are given tax
breaks. Noone has ever called (seriously) highways holy. So when
municipalities give legal benefits to unmarried couples, where is the
attack on sanctity? Make up your mind.
Children are not accessories which no self-respecting woman or man can do
without (parse that one - ha!) I am starting to agree with certain people
that if the parents, or at least one parent, can't devote a huge chunk of
time to children, they should not have them. I think people need to start
deciding what they want from life. One might seem to be able to "have it
all", but you really can't, and you really shouldn't strive for such
things. So nyah.
Maybe I should start a band. Everyone in New York seems to have one...
Thought up a lyric based on my life experiences... or actually, a couple.
Sample:
Who do you think you are?
This is not that kind of bar.
What did you think when you ordered that drink,
Who do you think you are?
Another:
Oh, Savannah...
With your gnats, and your bats
and those huge water rats
I'm so glad we have parted our ways...
About as good as the sf premises I've been spitting out. I think I'm
going to stick to nonfiction prose.
