Stinky Pat is in the house.... 1 hour (or so) of rowing on the row machine
bay-bee....

So let's see, what has been my crowning achievement of the last few days?
Oh yes, after liberal application of La Birra Rossa (not to be confused
with Barbarossa), I may have permanently removed 7 hairs from my leg.
I'm going to wait and see. I estimate a total of about... oh 1000 leg
hairs yet to be removed. This will involve approximately 20 six-packs.

So lots of things have been going on. On Saturday, Carey cheered at her
first Duke game. Friday night, I went to a great party with good tequila
sunrises, and an intersting ride home. A block from my apartment, the cab
came to a stop for about 10 fire engines were blocking our path. I hopped
out of the car in the middle of the street (noone was moving much) to
check it out. It seemed that something exploded in a building. Or
something. I sure haven't figured it out yet, I've not been able to get
close enough to get a good look.

Saturday, Paul Dreyer came up to town from Rutgers, and we walked. And
walked, and walked. All over Central Park - Columbus Circle to Harlem
Meer. All over the East Village (and a little central village), to
Veselka, home of yum-yummy raspberry blintzes and my second semi-celebrity
sighting. I saw Jonathan Ross, of Comedy Central fame, who used to be
featured as "Poetry by Ross". He looked tired. So I've seen Sandra
Bernhard and Jonathan Ross. Not terribly impressive for one year's worth
of New York City. And I've seen none of the celebrities in Westport. I
think that's because I usually spend my entire time watching videos at
Aunt Patti's house.

Where was I? Saturday. I bought socks, books, and time on Saturday. On
Sunday, I served at altar for the first time. No extra wine for me. I
also went on a tour called "Stars of Central Park" about where various
movies were filmed in the Park. And I made applesauce and banana bread.
And I lost $1.25 on poker. I tried bluffing hard on one hand but didn't
scare everybody off. More particularly, I did not scare off the person
with a better hand than me.

On Monday, a half hour running (well, walking) up and down stairs, and a
half hour on the row machine. Grading papers, programming. Tuesday:
teaching, grading papers, being pissed at the network, making chocolate
chip pound cake (vegan -- had to finish off that rice milk -- yeah yeah I
know there's no milk in pound cake. sue me)

And that, dear friends is why I have not updated this page lately.

I'm tired.

Today is my time for the programming sprints.

see ya
