So I've been thinking about synchronicity, odd occurances, coincidences,
etc. of late. And not the contrived kind of coincidence, carefully
scripted into a movie (I've been thinking about how everyone says "Carl"
right before he leaves them in Sling Blade...)

So let's start at about a week ago. It's Monday afternoon, and I've
gotten off the Metro North train in Westport, Conn. Aunt Patti isn't on
the parking lot side, so I go to the other side of the tracks to call her
and bypass the sleazy-looking cab drivers. On the other side, I run into
Ivan, a strange guy from this math dept., getting dropped off so that he
can pick up the train to New York....

dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee.....

Ok, let's fast forward to me in Reston, with Brad(that's Cliff to you).
Two days in a row, I wake up to complete light outside, but I linger in
bed until I can't take it any more. I get up out of bed (three
prepositions, cool) and look at the clock in Brad's living room. It was
7:09!!! Both days!!!

dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee......

(btw, both days I decided to go back to bed and maybe do some crosswords.)

Ok, now it's Saturday, still in Reston. Brad and I have been watching the
complete works of Wallace & Gromit (animated shorts I highly recommend).
We had seen them for the first time Friday night at a movie night
gathering on the biggest screen I've ever seen in a private home. We
borrowed the videos from Mike to watch on Saturday. We put on the
requisite black duds to go to Goth night at the Capital Ballroom, and what
should appear on their TV screens... Young Frankenshteen and.... Wallace
and Gromit!

dee dee dee dee dee dee dee dee........

Talk about harmonic convergence (or even subharmonic convergence).

I'm sure some other small, strange coincidences have occured to make one
evoke some kind of higher order to the universe. I don't remember them
right now. Though I wonder what kind of order is implied when I see a
video shown in two different places. or that I get out of bed at the same
time every morning.
