Taking a break from writing my paper (I gave myself a midnight deadline
tonight, so that I'd _stop_ at some point.) Just wanted to relate a
couple of things I heard.
* Upstairs in the math lounge, there's two people studying organic
chemistry. This girl bitched about profs who took over the table she was
studying at, but as she noted, it =is= their lounge. How diplomatic.
Anyway, she and this other chem person who shouldn't be there (it's
=not= a public lounge, guys) were entertaining each other with interesting
stories from DC (I guess they both were congressional pages or something
at one point), one about old Gopher from the Love Boat. But anyway, the
woman said something about a couple of medical students who got expelled
for throwing around the penis from some cadaver. She said, "If I gave my
body to science, and two kids were playing around with it, I'd think it
was kind of funny." Just another person in the world that I'm glad not to
know.
* The only two things you need to know here at Courant is integration by
parts and the Cauchy-Schwarz inequality. Remember that, kids.
