Someone once said "All bad poetry is sincere" (or wrote, or typed, or
telepathically transmitted... as if I know)...this relates to
nothing. For some reason, it connects to my thought that all literal
statements are lies, in essence. Mainly because they promote the illusion
that all that is true of a situation can be contained in certain
words.
"I am Mary Pat" - a true statement which is also deeply false. Sorry,
those who read these "diary" pages - if you think this means you know me,
you don't. Even I don't know me. (Well, that's a lie. I do know me, but
I don't get out much.)
That's why I like art and fiction so much -- they get closer to revealing
the truth (with what artificial means they use) than just looking out your
window. The more artificial the structure, the easier it is to see.
