stargazer the sky covers the night like a black embroidered sheet... but perhaps the stars aren't embroidery but holes (one wonders at the quality of items used for creation) and the lights are really one enormous fire smoldering in a neighboring universe the stars seem like ice fire tonight coming together to form beings that soar and refuse to be caught i lay on the grass among the straining trees which try to grab and snatch there! the bright limbs of orion catch in the branches but i move and off he roams somewhere else, hunting none of them can ever be kept perhaps never to be touched i remain among the trees tearing away from my roots and reaching towards the sky one day i shall reach up and touch them and be burnt ice cold and become one of them see if you can catch me then --Mary Pat Campbell
