Okay, I've been typing for about 3 hours, so I'm going to keep this short.
I just put up the journal I kept when I was in Japan for 2 months in 1994.
A warning: it is very poorly written, and much of it is about the TV shows
I watched. Remember I was tired most of the times (without daylight
savings time, I was woken up by the sun at 4:30 am every day) and had
intended to "edit" it later. It was mainly written for information sake.
You must also realize how much work it was for me to even figure out what
was going on on the TV shows. I remember coming home from a bar one
night, thinking my Japanese language powers were sharp, and spent a half
hour trying to understand my host mother telling me that Kim Il Sung had
died. Also, to give y'all a historical anchor (I'm American, that h is
aspirated, and thus the "a") - that summer was the infamous White Bronco
chase. I picked a good summer not to be in the U.S.
Some of the entries are =extremely= long, and boy do my wrists hurt.
On the real estate front: I'm trying to get a 2 bedroom apt. in Kew Garden
Hills. People, pray to St. Joseph for me (so I'm buying, not selling, but
hey).
