Well, I guess the NYU network does not feel like contacting the
outside world today. So, I'll just use up the normal time I spend looking
at the news and comics and entering contests blathering on in my usual,
time-filling, screen-scrolling way.
I see here that my officemate has a binder of software docs in a
binder with tabs that say "NHL 1992-1993", "Giants & Jets 1992", "NBA
1992-1993" -- what did he buy - a stat-keeper's notebook? Very odd.
Things are (very slowly) getting done here. I am done with one
class so far. I should finish up with the homework of one class (at
least) today, and make up an exam for my students.
From the 11th floor, the gentle snow is kind of lulling and gives
this office a cozy feeling. On the street, this snow is nothing more than
rain that doesn't immediately make you wet and messes up the streets in a
slower manner. Snow is wasted on New York, at least at these
temperatures. We stay in the upper 30s, lower 40s constantly now. That's
a very nice range for winter weather (especially with all the wind we
get), and I've heard this is more temperate than what North Carolina is
seeing right now. Ha! Ha!
Brad & Jay are living it up in the U.N. Plaza, and I've got other
friends visiting on Friday. Let me say this is a really busy week. At
least one thing had to go, and crew was the first on the list. Hopefully,
I'll be able to pick it up next week, but we'll have to see.
I will join in the pangyric to green tea -- green tea! It makes
me pee! Ain't that the truth.
