2 Sept 1997
I'm back.
Don't throw a parade yet (I don't think a parade would land very
far away... even if all of you were hefting it). L'hotel Meep is still
under major renovations as it were. Wait a few weeks before making
reservations even. The owner and manager is very sore from developing
major leg and arm muscles; she would like to thank handyman Stu for
initial improvements. We also regret to inform there is no handicapped
access to the rooms, unless said handicapped persons can get up three
flights of stairs. The location is prime, in the heart of the Ukrainian
section of the Village (surrounded as it is by a Ukrainian church,
restaurant, and knick-knack shop.) There is easy access to the bars on
2nd Avenue and the Kmart at Astor Place. One block away is the scenic St.
Mark's Place, where all the city's major tattoo designs, dyes, and hair
accessories can be viewed on local models. I highly recommend L'hotel
Meep to the traveling friend of Meep who wants to get near it all.
In other news....
I have no air-conditioning, but luckily fall is supposed to drop
on the city tomorrow. splat. I need to buy pants, which is good timing
for there is no sales tax on cheap clothing this week.
Thought of the day: Spring and Fall are aptly named, but not so
for the other seasons. May I suggest Singe and Wither?
