Odd things are afoot in mary's brain.....
Anyway, it's Saturday and it's =gorgeous=, like a spring day in reverse.
I've already been to the farmer's market in Union Square, and though it's
not terribly huge, there is about everything you'd want -- even wine from
the Finger Lakes. I bought some honey butter, a quart of milk in a
bottle (if i could save milk in a bottle, the first thing that I'd like
to do -- is make some great shakes and maybe a cake, and maybe i'd even
drink it too....), and a bunch of flowers called cockscomb. They're
hairy-looking and have an obvious fractal-ness to them.
Ma _should_ be getting power back today.
On the way up to Union Square, I had a deja vu moment. I was checking
out some generic asian restaurant (it had some chinese and japanese
stuff) and saw a good price for sukiyaki. I've dreamt that before, too.
I know it's not very profound, but almost all my dreams are of just
normal life and so these deja vu things come at me from nowhere. Of
course, I had that sukiyaki dream long before I thought of coming to New
York (cue X-files theme in background...)
Went to the ballroom dancing club yesterday, was fun and sweaty.
Thursday night I went to the Grad/Law Student Club at the Catholic
Center. There's an upstairs to the center, where the priests live (and
the nun, too, I guess), and they've got a _sweet_ pad. You should see
their living room. And they've got a pavilion adjoining, with that nice
cloistered feeling to it. And even though all they had was white wine, I
think they did pretty well.
My battery was about used up. Too bad I don't have one of those little
buttons on my side so one can check my energy level. But now I'm
energized & ready to roll on down Broadway. I think I'm even strong
enough to go into a couple of bookstores or so. Hmmmmm.
