Sing a song of chess pieces,
Mary wants to cry.
The game will soon be over,
her king is going to die.  

But she got almost all Brad's pawns
and put them in a ring.
Wasn't that a dainty dish to set before her king?


The dead pawns from the sidelines
give Brad an angry look.
Mary knew she wouldn't win,
but she was agile with her rook.

She wanted all the pawns and
took them by any means.
The ghostly procession yells at Brad,
"We could have been =queens=!"
